Mrs. Frohn's Class

Dear Second Grader,

Welcome to second grade! My name is Mrs. Frohn (it rhymes with phone) and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! There are so many fun things we will do and learn together. I can’t wait to get started with our school year!

Second grade is a wonderful year! You will learn how to write small moment stories, informational books, persuasive letters and poetry. In math, we will play lots of fun games and learn how to count money, tell time, solve word problems and add and subtract some pretty big numbers! Do you like to read? We do LOTS of reading in second grade every day! In science, we will learn about rocks and soil, conduct experiments with solids and liquids and we will also learn about plants and insects. In social studies, we will learn about communities, natural resources, maps, history and innovations.

I know that our year together is going to be filled with lots of fun and new adventures. You are going to learn and grow so much and I am excited to work with you and help you along the way! I hope that you enjoy the remainder of the summer and I am looking forward to meeting you! On the first day of school, bring your favorite book to read and a big smile! I can’t wait to see you!
